Jørgen advises on all aspects of labour and employment law, but takes a special interest in the following areas:

  • Employment issues of public authorities and privatised companies, including litigation before the courts, the Labour Court, industrial arbitration and other relevant fora
  • Investigations and legal inquiries for public and private sector employers
  • Acting as an arbitrator in disputes
  • Advising the media and pharmaceutical sector
  • Assisting foreign organisations with the labour and employment law aspects involved in setting up and doing business in Denmark

Focus areas

I recently

  • headed up the legal assessment based on the report of the Danish Tax Case Commission to illustrate whether professional misconduct had taken place in connection with the correspondence etc. between the authorities in question and the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman
  • represented Falck before the Eastern High Court in a case concerning implementation of EU working time regulations
  • represented the municipality of Vallensbæk in an arbitration case to determine if the municipality was justified in dismissing its chief executive
  • advised and represented Danish municipalities and Local Government Denmark (KL) in the cases which ended up in the Labour Court in the aftermath of the industrial dispute with the teachers' union in the spring of 2013
  • represented Local Government Denmark and the Danish municipalities in the special complex of test cases, initially before the Danish Eastern High Court and then the Danish Supreme Court, concerning the implications of the provisions of the Danish Salaried Employees Act on termination pay
  • represented a number of municipalities in the Supreme Court in a pensions case – particularly concerning the understanding and interpretation of the contractual regulation of pensions matters for municipal employees
  • represented Local Government Denmark, a great number of municipalities and regions in dismissals cases and arbitration proceedings
