Schjødt strengthens its Danish activities through merger with Norrbom Vinding

For more than 25 years, Norrbom Vinding has held a tier 1 position within labour and employment law and conflict resolution. The firm has also expanded significantly in the M&A area, having attracted one of the market’s leading, most experienced and close-knit M&A teams in the autumn of 2025, with several selected partners and employees within M&A and a number of legal support functions following suit. All these areas directly complement Schjødt’s existing Danish business.

”It is an excellent match both commercially and in terms of capabilities – for our Danish as well as our international business – and we very much look forward to getting started together,” says Magnus Lütken, managing partner at Schjødt.

A larger Danish platform
Particularly within M&A, Norrbom Vinding has recently strengthened its position through recruitment, contributing to a growing client portfolio and a solid position in the Danish market. It is precisely this experience that has given us the courage to do more in a market where consolidation is a key element going forward, elaborates managing partner Christian K. Clasen of Norrbom Vinding:

”We are incredibly pleased to be part of Schjødt now. It is an ambitious law firm with skilled and dedicated lawyers. By combining our resources, Schjødt will be able to offer an even wider range of top-level legal services,” says managing partner at Norrbom Vinding, Christian K. Clasen.

Following the merger, up to 50 lawyers and other employees from Norrbom Vinding, including 15 partners, will become part of Schjødt’s existing business in Denmark, which already has 70 employees, 16 of whom are partners. This will consolidate Schjødt’s position as one of the market’s strongest players in the areas of M&A and dispute resolution, as well as making it Denmark’s leading firm in labour and employment law.

A Scandinavian response to an international need
The expansion in Denmark is one of several steps planned in the effort to strengthen Schjødt’s position as a leading pan-Scandinavian law firm with a strong presence in the United Kingdom.

”Schjødt’s vision is to be the first choice when the stakes are high and important values are in play. This requires us to constantly adapt to the market. We are seeing that an increasing number of clients need complex legal advice across countries and national markets. Our combined core competencies in Oslo and other Norwegian cities, Copenhagen, Stockholm and London create a unique legal environment that meets these needs. With the merger in Denmark, we are sending a clear signal to the market about our ambitions, which also include growth and recruitment in Sweden and Norway,” says Magnus Lütken, managing partner at Schjødt.

Schjødt is working to further strengthen the organisation with additional experienced employees in Denmark.

The merger is expected to be completed as soon as possible, once all formalities are in place.
