Mercer and Norrbom Vinding invite you to a joint afternoon seminar on the new Pay Transparency Directive
The Pay Transparency Directive requires implementation of a number of measures aimed at strengthening the application of the principle of equal pay for men and women for equal work or work of equal value by making it easier for employees to enforce their right to equal pay.
It is expected that the implementation of the Directive will lead to an explicit legal requirement in the Equal Pay Act for employers to implement pay structures that ensure that any gender pay gap is justified by objective, gender-neutral criteria as well as a requirement to provide employees with access to the criteria used to determine pay and the average pay levels in the organisation.
If an employer fails to fulfil these obligations, beyond penalties and reputation damage, employees may file legal claims against the employer for violations of equal pay laws, leading to potential lawsuits and associated legal costs.
At the afternoon seminar, Mercer and Norrbom Vinding will, for example, focus on:
- The content of the Directive and the expected changes to the Equal Pay Act compared to the current regulation
- How employers can best prepare for the changes
- Status on implementation in other EU countries
- The importance of employers ensuring a strong job architecture and/or pay structure
- Examples from companies actively working on equal pay
